My work in photography is an exploration of mythology through the contemplation of nature.

As fairy tales often take place deep in the forest and as holy folk seek visions in the hard light of the wild desert and mountains, I encounter and photograph nature seeking the raw, refined and magical manifestations of imagination and spirit.

With traditional cameras and lenses I bring myself in close to my subjects. With remote, motion activated cameras I can capture the apparitions of my absence. Using models and projections in the studio and field I create image series with a suggestion of mythological narrative.
